On September 23, COG hosted a reception that brought together members of the Board of Directors and policy committees with members of the National Capital Region Congressional Delegation — Congressmen Don Beyer, James Walkinshaw, and Eugene Vindman from Virginia and Steny Hoyer and Glenn Ivey from Maryland.  

COG Board Chair Reuben Collins provided opening remarks, highlighting the need for close collaboration with leaders at the federal level to advance shared regional priorities. Throughout the night, the congressmen, along with D.C. Councilmember Robert White, who is running to be District of Columbia’s delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives, spoke in support of this teamwork and noted that working beyond jurisdictional boundaries has created a stronger overall region that better serves their residents.
