DC, Maryland and Virginia Election Officials Launch Voter Registration Week

In recognition of National Voter Registration Day, area election officials working with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments are kicking off a week-long effort today to inform voters about how to register to vote and confirm the accuracy of their voter registration.

Area election officials and volunteers will be distributing fliers throughout the region, including at several Metro, MARC and VRE stations. Throughout the week, area election officials and volunteers will also conduct voter registration drives at public libraries, community centers, government agency offices, and public events.

Events during this regional Voter Registration Week will include:

September 23

Voter registration at One Judiciary Square from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Community College of the District of Columbia from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Carecen from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and at several high schools in the District (click here );
Voter registration and pollworker recruitment at GEICO in Montgomery County from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.(click here);
Voter registration at Yorktown High School in Arlington County from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (click here );     
Events in Loudoun County at the Carver Center, Cascades Senior Center, Dulles South Multipurpose Center, and the Senior Center of Leesburg from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and at the Ashburn Library, Cascades Library, Gum Spring Library, Lovettsville Library, Middleburg Library, Purcellville Library, Rust Library and Sterling Library from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (for more information contact 703-777-0380);

September 24

Voter registration at the H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program in Arlington County from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (click here );
Voter registration and pollworker recruitment at the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church/Penn Branch AARP Community Health, Wellness and Informational Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (contact 202-727-2511);
Events in Fairfax County at the James Lee Community Center: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Martha Washington Library: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Kings Park Library: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

September 25

Voter registration event at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington County from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (click here);
A voter registration and election presentation by DC Board of Elections personnel at the Congressional Black Caucus legislative conference from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (contact 202-727-2511);
Events in Fairfax County at the Pohick Regional Library: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Great Falls Library: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

September 26

Voter registration following a naturalization ceremony at the U.S. District Court (contact 202-727-2511);
Events in Fairfax County at the Heritage Center, Family Services (Annandale): 9:30 a.m. to Noon, Tyson Corner Center Restaurant Court: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. 1961 Chain Bridge Rd., McLean (downstairs)

September 27

Voter registration at a Family-to-Family Program event at the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus in the District (contact 202-727-2511);
Voter registration events at the Davis Library, Potomac Library, Rockville Memorial Library, and the Silver Spring Library in Montgomery County from 1:00 to 3:00pm (click here);
Prince George’s County will hold a voter registration drive at the 18th Annual Port Towns  Day located at Bladensburg Waterfront Park, 4501 Annapolis Road, Bladensburg, Maryland from 12 noon to 7PM.

September 28

Voter registration events at the Rockville Memorial Library and Silver Spring Library in Montgomery County from 1:00 to 3:00pm (click here);

September 29

Events in Fairfax County at the Herndon Fortnightly Library: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Southgate Community Center: Noon to 3:00 p.m.

September 30

Prince George’s County will conduct a Student Government Election at Crossland High School in Temple Hills, MD.
Events in Fairfax County at the Lincolnia Senior Center: 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., George Mason Regional Library: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
