In COG’s annual video, local leaders share the ways they are working together at COG to advance equity, transit, housing, and climate goals in the Region United planning framework for 2030: Christian Dorsey, COG Board Chair, Arlington County Board Vice Chair; Kate Stewart, COG Board Vice Chair, Montgomery County Councilmember; Charles Allen, COG Board Vice Chair, District of Columbia Councilmember; Chuck Bean, COG Executive Director.

In the past few years, the COG Board of Directors has identified the issues and priorities where COG could add value in deepening understanding and setting direction to help address our region’s biggest, interrelated challenges.

In 2022, COG integrated these priorities into Region United, our planning framework for 2030, and area leaders are happy to see several early indicators of the success and utility of this approach. Jurisdictions have welcomed new COG grants to create affordably priced housing near transit. Increased efforts are underway for comprehensive electric vehicle infrastructure planning to help advance our climate goals. Broader application of and engagement with COG’s Equity Emphasis Areas informs decisionmakers across the region.

Learn more about these and other achievements in our 2022 Annual Video - Region United: Accelerating Action and the following links.
