Local Technical Assistance (LTA) Projects

Apr 25, 2024
This map displays projects funded by three TPB programs— the Transportation Land-Use Connections (TLC) Program, the Regional Roadway Safety Program (RRSP), and the Transit Within Reach. Users can filter projects by program, topic, fuding year and more.

The Transportation Land-Use Connections (TLC) Program, established by the TPB in 2007, provides short-term consultant services to local jurisdictions for small planning projects that promote mixed-use, walkable communities and support a variety of transportation alternatives. The program offers consultant assistance up to $80,000 for planning projects and up to $100,000 for design or preliminary engineering projects.

The Regional Roadway Safety Program (RRSP) provides short-term consultant services to member jurisdictions or agencies to assist with planning or preliminary engineering projects that address roadway safety issues. Examples include studies, planning, or design projects that will improve roadway safety and lead to a reduction in fatal and serious injury crashes on the jurisdiction’s roadways. The program offers consultant assistance up to $80,000 for planning projects and up to $100,000 for design projects.

The Transit Within Reach Program funds design and preliminary engineering projects to help improve bike and walk connections to existing high-capacity transit stations or stations that will be open to riders by 2030. The program places emphasis on projects that improve access in TPB Transit Access Focus Areas (TAFAs), which have been identified as prime locations for small capital improvements— such as sidewalks, trails, crosswalks— that will make it safer and easier to walk or bike to train stations and bus stops.
