COG Annual Meeting

The Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Luncheon, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments' biggest event of the year, will bring together elected officials, government executives, and business and nonprofit leaders to celebrate regional partnership, make connections, and recognize outstanding leadership.

This year’s event will focus on the opportunities and challenges that the new administration and Congress will present to the metropolitan Washington region. Norm Ornstein, U.S. Representative Barbara Comstock, and the region’s newest Congressmen, Anthony Brown and Jamie Raskin, will provide remarks.

Anthony Brown was elected this November to serve as the U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 4th District.

Jamie Raskin was elected this November to serve as the U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 8th District.

Barbara Comstock was first elected in November 2014 to serve as the U.S. Representative for Virginia's 10th District.

Norm Ornstein is a long-time observer of Congress and politics. He is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and contributing editor and columnist for the Atlantic. He is co-author of the New York Times best seller, "It's Even Worse Than It Looks: How the American Constitutional System Collided With the New Politics of Extremism"
